Policies

Registration

Camper applications must be completed online. We will not accept registrations by email or phone.

Safety

Our top priority is the safety and well-being of children. We have a duty to ensure that children in our care are safe and secure. It is our responsibility as a childcare provider to report any suspected acts of mental or physical abuse to the correct authorities.

Bullying

We have a zero-tolerance for bullying policy. We will work closely with the parents, but if it is proven that there was intent to seriously harm another child through physical or verbal means, the aggressor will face expulsion from camp with no refunds.  His or her parents will be called to pick up the offending camper and will not be allowed to return.

Weather

Our camp is open, rain or shine!  If there is severe weather, our campers will engage in indoor activities where the fun does not stop! During extreme heat warning, our campers do not go outside when the temperature rises above 34 degrees Celsius.

Lost or Stolen Items

All items found by the staff will be placed in a Lost & Found bin. At the end of the camp items not claimed will be donated to a charitable organization. We recommend that the child’s full name is placed on all personal items.  Community Roots is not held accountable for any lost or stolen items.

Sick Days

We do not offer refunds for sick days or absences

Absence

If your child cannot attend camp, email us at summer@communityrootsinc.com before 9 am so that we can inform our staff.

Allergens

We are a nut-free environment.  All camper's snacks and lunches for camp should be nut free. If a child brings a snack containing nuts, the snack cannot be consumed or opened. If a snack with nuts is opened, it will be discarded, and the child brought to wash their hands immediately.  We require all campers with a nut allergy to carry an epipen.  All allergies should be dislosed during regisration.

Emergency List

We keep emergency contact information with records on medical history or allergies. We identify, treat, report, and record any occurrence of injury and keep up-to-date safety records of each camper.
